The Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association has conducted its annual wine competition July 19-20,2014. This event focuses exclusively on the grapes grown and wine produced in the 17 state area of the Atlantic seaboard from Maine to Florida including Vermont, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The purpose of this competition was to judge the quality and marketability of Vinifera, Native America, French Hybrid grape varieties and this year for the first time fruit wines, meads and ciders were included.
There were over 750 wines from 10 states judged by 17 judges from around the country. This year Potomac Point Winery’s Viognier 2013 placed with a silver medal.
