Know Before You go
Tasting Bar Experience Info:
Reservations are recommended, walk-ins taken based on availability.
You will select your tasting & pay upon arrival.
Each tasting group will have 45 minutes to enjoy.
Please note, the tasting bar is standing only, we do not have seating during this experience.
If you wish to dine in the bistro or enjoy any other on-site experiences, please make a separate reservation. We do not permit food at the tasting bar.
Bistro Info:
If you are joining us for a bistro reservation, they will swipe a credit card to start a tab for your table upon arrival. Please note, your final bill can be paid by the same card, a different card, split evenly with multiple cards, or paid by cash. Due to bank requirements, we will need to a swipe a card again at check-out.
We highly recommend bistro reservations for guaranteed availability (especially on weekends). We have a 15-minute grace period before offering your table to another guest. Please call us if you are running later than 15 minutes after your reservation time so that we do not give your table away.
Each reservation group of 1-5 guests will have 2 hours to enjoy; each group of 6+ guests will have 3 hours to enjoy. Please keep in mind that if you book a reservation close to our closing time, you may not have the full allotted time to complete your bistro experience.
There will be one tab per group, or tabs can be split evenly amongst guests.
A 20% auto-gratuity will be added to groups with 6 or more guests.
There is a $25 fee for any outside cakes; we recommend pre-ordering a delectable Wine Cake for celebrations!
Wine Cakes: wine cakes must be ordered a minimum of 3 days in advance and cannot be canceled within 72 hours of your reservation time. You can pre-order your wine cake during the online reservation process.

For the enjoyment of all guests, we do not permit balloons, speeches/ presentations, decorations, confetti, banners/signs, party games, sparklers, photographers, bands, and DJs. Guests wanting to include these custom options with their reservation may do so by renting out a private room through our events Department.
Outside food is not permitted in our facility or in any dining areas.
Outside alcohol is not permitted anywhere on property.
Please ask a staff member about our designated smoking areas on the property; smoking is prohibited in our courtyard, veranda, and patio, out of respect for our guests. This includes all vaping & e-cig products.

Groups of 11+
Our Bistro & Tasting Bar can accommodate parties of 1-10 guests. We welcome large parties at Potomac Point Winery based on availability! To ensure every guest has an exceptional experience, parties of 11 or more people are considered a private event. Please fill out this form to request a private event packet.

Dogs & Service Animals:
Our leashed and friendly pups are more than welcome to visit our winery tasting room, grounds, in our courtyard, and on the patio! Please note, due to VA health code we cannot allow dogs in our D’vine Lounge, ballroom, barrel room or production area. We would like to note that fully trained, ADA-compliant service animals will continue to be permitted anywhere on the property. Virginia law requires that service dogs be identified in particular ways:
- A guide dog must be in harness.
- A hearing dog must be on a blaze orange leash.
- A service dog must be in a backpack, harness, or vest that identifies it as a trained service dog.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Dogs are not permitted in Merlot Meadow’s Outdoor Lounge or Wine Tents.
Please note: Virginia Department of Health will allow dogs with the following conditions: Dogs are not served food or water from tableware used for people; Dogs are not allowed on chairs, seats, or tables; Dogs are kept on a leash and under the control of an adult; there are effective means for cleaning up dog vomit and feces. Courtyard & Veranda
Outdoor Bistro Dining.
Potomac Point was built around our New Orleans-styled Courtyard. The Courtyard offers sweet serenity from our Italian water feature and hand-forged iron trellis. The veranda sits above the courtyard on the second story of the winery. This is the perfect spot to overlook the courtyard, vineyard, sunsets, and Friday night music. Enjoy a glass, bottle, or flight of wine, along with delicacies from the bistro.
D’Vine Lounge
Indoor Bistro Dining.
Our D’vine lounge is the ideal indoor hangout location. With inviting barrel furniture, couches, and Tuscan ambiance, you may want to linger with friends by the fireplace or enjoy selections from our bistro menu. To enjoy the lounge furniture, please select a “D’Vine Lounge” bistro reservation.
Picnic Pavilion
Picnics | Available for private events.
The Picnic Pavilion is surrounded by lush vineyard, perfect for company picnics, family reunions, or casual birthday celebrations. When the Picnic Pavilion is not privately rented you can check-in at our tasting room to purchase wine & cheese and make your way down to the pavilion for a picnic. Please call to ensure pavilion availability. Groups of 12+ need to privately rent the pavilion.
Merlot Meadow
Enjoy beautiful views, delicious wines and a casual relaxing experience in Merlot Meadow. MM offer fours different experiences: Picnics, Outdoor Lounge, Bocce Ball, and Firepits!
This is a self-service area with a walk-up Wine & Food Tent serving picnic foods, wine flights, and wine by the bottle. Merlot Meadow accepts reservations for 2-20 guests and welcomes walk-in groups of up to 6 guests based on availability.
Tasting Room & Gift Shop
The tasting room is the heart of the winery and the ideal space to begin your winery adventure. We offer an array of hand-selected merchandise and gourmet artisan foods to peruse. Our staff has traveled around the country to select unique items to fill our one-of-a-kind gift shop, giving you the perfect outlet to find those ideal gifts. Gift Cards are available.
Chianti’s Corner
Groups of 1-6 guests are invited to enjoy Chianti’s Corner following their reservation. This is a first come, first serve area that includes picnic tables & Adirondack chairs with vineyard views, shade sails, and string lights. Wine & cheese can be ordered from the tasting room and this area will never be privately rented.
Winery Wings
Potomac Point Winery has “spread its wings” with an interactive wall mural. We hope this artwork is a reminder that something wonderful is about to unfold! With a butterfly mentality (and a glass of wine), we hope you’ll find that you can fly gracefully above the barriers that would otherwise hold you back. Don’t forget to take your photo with this mural as you leave our property! It is located on the backside of the picnic pavilion. Artist: Francesca Chambers.

Tower
PPW’s Tower is located at the top of the winery with a table for two. The tower overlooks the entire property with magical sunsets, making it the perfect setting for an intimate dinner to celebrate a special occasion. Contact our Reservations coordinator to privately rent the tower.
Frequently Asked Questions
There is a certain romance about the notion of working in a vineyard. Picking grapes, tucking vines, conjuring up images of rolling hills, breathtaking landscapes and stomping on the grapes with your bare feet in a huge wooden barrel. I won’t sugar coat it, tucking vines, grape picking, and bottling wine is hard work, often under a strong summer sun, but the rewards remain bountiful. You get to meet locals, share in an age-old tradition and hopefully, indulge in the fruits of your labor and the celebrations that go with harvest season.
If you have ever wondered what it’s like to be a winemaker this is a great opportunity to get a sneak peek into their busiest time of year. During August, September, October & November we will be looking for volunteers at varies times as vineyard needs arise. All of our volunteers will receive $10 of wine credit per hour they work, and lunch will be provided. If you are interested in being added to our volunteer database list to learn more about these opportunities, please email reservations@potomacpointwinery.com.

PPW is a non-smoking facility. However, we do offer several smoking areas around our grounds, to include humidor hill, Chianti’s Corner, and our front mulch area. We do provide smoking signs to clearly define these areas, along with sand buckets to properly dispose of your cigarettes/cigars. Please be very cautious when flicking and putting out cigarettes/cigars; we have had several occasions where our plants/mulch have caught on-fire due to smoking patrons.

Whether you’re looking to host a corporate holiday party, birthday event, or family reunion- we can accommodate you.

Absolutely! PPW gift cards can be used for wine, bistro, or gift shop merchandise. Gift cards can be purchased in our tasting room or online.

Yes, our naked wine cakes are perfect for special occasions! Each cake is baked and soaked in Potomac Point Wines to create a delicious one-of-a-kind taste. Choose from the following flavors: French Vanilla Coyote Cave, Chocolate Dolce Rubus Merlot, or Strawberry La Belle Vie Rosé. All cakes are topped with a wine-infused whipped cream frosting. Important note, cakes must be ordered 72 hours in advance. Cakes are not available on Wednesdays.
In the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate your outdoor bistro reservation indoors. In the case of certain rain or thunderstorms, we will permit a weather cancellation with a minimum notice of 2-hours prior to your reservation start time. Yes, children are welcome at Potomac Point Winery’s bistro & picnic locations! We have a delectable kid’s menu offered in our bistro. Please ensure children are always monitored by an adult and not permitted to climb on winery equipment.
Please note, our Merlot Meadow Tasting Lounge is 21 and over only.
When you arrive to our front register area, our Customer Service Representatives will greet you and check you in for your reservation. If you are there for a wine tasting, they will walk you through your wine tasting options, and collect your payment based on your selection. If you are joining us for a bistro reservation, they will swipe a credit card to start a tab for your table. Please note, your final bill can be paid by the same card, a different card, split evenly with multiple cards, or paid by cash. We are unable to split checks by item.
When you have finished your bistro dining experience, our servers are able to check you out directly from your table. Otherwise, if you wanted to walk around the vineyard, grab another glass of wine, hang out in Chianti’s Corner, shop in our gift shop, or purchase bottles of wine to-go, you are welcome to do so then check-out at our front register area. By starting a tab upon arrival, our guests are able to get the full experience of our winery. Starting a tab ensures that you will not have to continuously pay for separate transactions, it allows you to truly take a step away from your everyday.
