Welcome to our new blog series, Wine of the Month!! Each month we will be posting about one of our fantastic Potomac Point wines, and giving you the inside scoop on everything you need to know about tasting and pairing!
Bottled just in time for spring, March’s Wine of the Month (and one of our prettiest), is the La Belle Vie Rosé! Our Winemaker, David Pagan Castaño, describes the Rosé as a “fine wine,” perfect for sipping in the warm Spring and Summer months. A composition of Merlot, Sangiovese, Chambourcin, and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals that has been aged in a stainless steel barrel helps to give our Rosé a clean and refreshing taste. You can expect to taste wonderful hints of berries, pomegranate, and cherry, mixed with nutty notes. These flavors, combined with .30% residual sugar, give this wine a delicious, subtle sweetness.
The refreshing taste of the Rosé also helps to make it one of our most versatile wines. Not only is it easy to drink, but it is also easy to pair with many different types of food! Our winemaker suggests that it could be paired with any spicy dish, as the wine would help to balance out the flavors. Our Chef, Dean Hill, recommends pairing the Rosé with a lighter dish, such as fresh crab with avocado and almond.
Now that you have the inside scoop, feel free to stop by for a tasting, or enjoy a 10% discount on a bottle of this delightful wine!
