We all know that when it comes to making wedding plans, the most important question of them all is “will you marry me?” However, once a couple decides to spend the rest of their lives together, the bride-to-be has a few questions of her own to ask! As a bride, one of the most important parts of your wedding is having a fabulous crew of your best girlfriends beside you through it all, making sure the day goes off without a hitch, and helping to make your wedding board on Pinterest become a reality! (Come on ladies, we all know we have one!!) When it comes to asking your bridesmaids if they will be part of one of the most important and joyful days of your life, us folks over here at Potomac Point think it’s way more fun to put some creativity into it, than to simply ask for a yes or no. Here are a few of our favorite ideas for you to try when the time comes to “pop the question” to your ladies!
- Ring Pops: Follow in your new fiancée’s footsteps by getting down on one knee! Raid the $1 section at Target for some cute decorative boxes, and stick a note inside asking, “will you be my bridesmaid?” Stick a ring pop in each one and voila! You have some cute and delicious bling to propose to your girlfriends with that will be sure to get some laughs!
- Balloon Pop: Grab some balloons from the local party store that match the color scheme you have in mind for your wedding day. Write up cute little notes asking, “will you be my bridesmaid?” and fold them up as small as you can. Before you blow up the balloons, funnel in the note and some sparkly confetti, and tie a safety pin to the opposite end of the string that the balloon is on. Once you’ve got all your best girls together, count down from 3 and have everyone pop their balloon at once! The flurry of confetti will make the whole event feel like its own party and will make for some adorable pictures as your bridesmaids accept their offer!
- Planner: This idea is cute and functional! Ask each of your girls to be a part of your wedding day by giving them an adorable planner (Lily Pulitzer, anyone?) and filling it with all of the important dates for your wedding, like when they should order a dress, the bridal shower, and the rehearsal. This way, you’re giving your friends an awesome gift, and getting your wedding planning off to a very organized start!
- Tank Tops: You can truly find anything on Etsy! Get each of your girls a cute tank top in your wedding colors that say “bridesmaid” or “maid of honor.” Make sure to get yourself a “bride” top too, so that when the time comes for bachelorette festivities, you ladies can go out dressed like the fierce and fabulous entourage that you are!
- Wine: Come on, who doesn’t love the gift of wine? Last but not least, right here in our Potomac Point gift shop, we sell these adorable wine glasses that take all of the work out of asking! On one side, they say “It’s my turn to pop the question,” and on the other side, “Will you be my bridesmaid?” Snag each of your gals one of these, along with a bottle of your favorite PPW wine and that’s all there is to it! Once everyone opens their gift, you can toast to your new bridal party and the adventure that lies ahead!
