Over the years we’ve seen several versions of unity ceremonies at our weddings, but our favorite by far has to be the wine ceremony. For many wine signifies life, love and vitality, making it perfect for a marriage celebration.
Many variations of the ceremony exist, but typically a carafe of red and a carafe of white are set upon a table/barrel with a single wine glass. At the designated time, the bride and groom pour the red and white into the glass. The officiant usually explains the symbolism of two individual lives blending into one, just like the wines have, as the couple drinks from the common glass.
